Switzerland ends the qualification round pointless and with a loss against unbeaten Turkey. There is the remorse of a close loss against Slovenia and a miserable start against Sweden that could have also turned the game in another direction. The Scandinavian Team, extracted into the group as the newcomer, beat Georgia today and pointed out that the group was much stronger than anticipated. While Turkey is already qualified, three teams could still qualify as the second in the group.

Head coach Benjamin Redder commented to wball.ch: “It’s hard to play for four quarters against a much stronger team. It was hard to find a way to play the fourth game in three days against a self-confident team with a very offensive-oriented defense. We end the tournament with two decent games and another two where we could not keep up with the level.”
