Pro Recco, one of the world’s most successful water polo clubs, has officially announced the signing of Slovakian player Lukas Durik. The 31-year-old center-forward joins the Italian powerhouse ahead of the new season, aiming to strengthen its squad as it pursues domestic and European titles.

Durik, who has played for various clubs across Europe and is a crucial member of the Slovak national team, expressed his excitement at joining Pro Recco. In a statement issued by the club, he said, “Playing for Pro Recco is an incredible opportunity for me, and I am eager to contribute to the team’s goals.”

“We believe Lukas will be an important asset to our team, bringing experience, dedication, and skill to an already strong lineup,” the club said in an official statement.

Durik’s transfer comes in the wake of financial difficulties faced by Tourcois, who could not register for the top league. Pro Recco capitalized on this opportunity by signing the Slovakian star with the approval of European Aquatics. Durik will be immediately eligible to play in domestic competitions, but for the Euro Cup, he will need to wait until January, should Pro Recco qualify for the Round of 16.

This signing adds depth to Pro Recco’s roster and emphasizes the club’s commitment to staying at the top of European water polo. As Durik integrates into the team, fans are eager to see how his presence will influence the squad’s dynamics and performance in the upcoming competitions.
