Recap
Semifinals 13-16 Place
Switzerland started very well in the game and could finish the first quarter with a 1 to 1 result, thanks to a long-distance shot from Amy Nussbauer and the saves from an outstanding Melanie Raveglia.
From the second quarter, the Swiss team suffered the intense British pressing and could only position far away from the opponent’s goal. This limited the offensive chances and made it difficult to serve the center forward.
On the other hand, Great Britain leveraged an excellent center forward Amelie Perking, who could score most of the goals and gain penalty shots and exclusions. The Swiss zone was mostly late in doubling at the center, leaving Perking a lot of time and space to play her game.
This led to the final result of 14 to 3. Switzerland scored again with a superb shot from the distance of Fiona Jetkinson and Amy Nussbaumer with an extra player shot goal.
Switzerland will play their last game of the tournament in the final for place 15 tomorrow, August 3rd, at 8:00, against Ireland.
