Swiss National League A finals are starting today in Swimming Pool Hörnli in Kreuzlingen. The two best teams of the qualification round face each other in the best-of-five final series.

Single events will decide the game. We want to bring those events in our favor.”

Joel Herzog (SC Kreuzligen)

Kreuzlingen had an outstanding season, losing only points against Horgen and Schaffhausen. The team from Lake Constance won all the semifinal games against Schaffhausen clearly. Kreuzlingen is formed by a core of players that have been together for a long time. The retirement of key players such as Marc Herzog, Pablo Carballo, and Jan Buob has been covered by youth organization players, leading to a mix of young and experienced players.

According to Joel Herzog of Kreuzlingen: “We trained well another few times, and we looked at our videos from this season to set up tactically against Horgen. There is no favorite team, and we expect very close games. It will be a thrilling series of matches that will be decided in the last seconds. In the end, single events will decide the game. Our players will give all they have to bring those events in our favor.”

We are going to Kreuzlingen to win and will give all that we have to accomplish our goal.

Pietro Gazzini (goalkeeper SC Horgen)

Horgen started with an unexpected loss against Carouge but was the only team to beat Kreuzligen this season. They then lost the two rematches clearly and gave up a point at home against Schaffhausen. The semifinal series against Carouge Natation was also won in three games but with very close results.

Horgen goalkeeper Pietro Gazzini: “We practiced our offensive and defensive movements before the final series. It’s challenging to win regularly if the team is newly formed and young. Thanks to our outstanding team spirit, we can fight together in difficult situations. I expect the first game to be the hardest of the series as we will play away. We are going there to win and will give all that we have to accomplish our goal.
