The U11 Final 6 tournament was held on Saturday, June 1st, at the new indoor pool Egelsee in Kreuzlingen.
During a perfectly organized event in front of 300 spectators, SC Horgen won the first youth final tournament of the year in the U11 category (players born in 2013 and younger, including girls born in 2012).

Quarterfinal 1: SC Winterthur – SC Kreuzligen (3-7)
The home team of Kreuzlingen was able to surprise their group phase opponent. While Winterthur was able to win all group games, this time Kreuzlingen controlled Winterthur’s top scorer, Dilara Honegger, and kept the result tied until halftime. With the support of their fans, the young team of SC Kreuzlingen was able to take the lead and win with a great last quarter, scoring three goals.
Quarterfinal 2: SC Horgen U11 vs Aquatics Club XXI / Carouge Natation U11 (12-1)
Horgen won the intermediate phase rematch against the joint team of Aquatics Club and Carouge. The Lake Zürich team set the tone of the tournament with strong defense and formidable counterattacks.
Semifinal 1: SC Kreuzlingen U11 vs CN Nyon U11 (1-7)
Nyon showed their strength against Kreuzlingen, taking the lead by 4-1 in the first quarter. With intense defensive pressure, Nyon controlled the game until the end, advancing to the finals.
Semifinal 2: SC Horgen U11 vs WBK SM Zürich U11 (7-0)
Horgen took an early lead of 3-0 thanks to an inspired Hajime Eichenberger (4 goals), despite an excellent Mattia Scollo, the goalkeeper of Zürich.
Zürich, who played without their injured top scorer, Vito Weiss, tried to come back in the game, moving Scollo to offense and surprising Horgen with fast counterattacks.
Horgen held its defensive position and added more goals to the score, advancing to the finals.
Final: CN Nyon U11 vs SC Horgen U11 (0-5)
Both finalists showed a strong defense. Nyon did a great job in limiting Horgen’s counterattack.
Horgen took the lead, with Alessandro Protz converting two penalty shots and goals from lefthander Carolina Papp and Elia Pfister building up the lead to 4-0 by the end of the third quarter.
At this point, Nyon’s coach, Julien Rodrigues, changed the goalkeeper and instructed his team to play with the goalkeeper as an additional offensive player, creating dangerous man-up situations.
Horgen could guard itself with goalkeeper Kira Henzi defending her goal and finishing the tournament unbeaten.
Another goal from Carolina Papp set the score to the final result of 5-0.
Zürich won the bronze medal in a close game against Kreuzlingen by 4-2, scoring with counterattacks in the second half.
Aquatics-Carouge ended up in fifth place, winning against Winterthur 3-2, thanks to goals from Hugo Hermoso Moreno and Nael El Alily.
