Recap
Kreuzlingen accomplished a crucial win and took the lead in Group A by beating the favorite team from Triglav Kranj (Slovenia).
The game was very tight but turned in Kreuzlingen’s favor in the last quarter when Nemanja Silj scored the goal for 10 to 7 in a man-up situation from the left wing. Silj was crucial to the win with five goals in total and dominating at the center position throughout the game.
The rest of the team contributed to the win with good defense, assists, and beautiful goals from long distances, like the ones from Joel Herzog, Robin Pleyer and Flurin Rickenbach. In particular, goalkeeper Darko Aleksic literally hypnotized the players from Kranj in the last quarter by saving a penalty shot, stopping a two-on-one counterattack, and a shot in a man-down situation.
Kranj tried to come back in the last minutes of the game via man-up and penalty shoot goals, but Kreuzlingen was able to defend the last attack and secure the win.
